A popular countryside pub will be reopening this week with a new menu.
The Garsdale, situated on Woodhill Road, Bury, will be under new management this Friday with the same friendly faces behind the bar.
Partners, Amie Sloan and Lisa Scholes, say they had been looking for a joint venture and after discovering the pub was available, jumped at the opportunity.
Lisa, who grew up in Tottington and works as cabin crew, said: “We are very excited to give everyone a big warm welcome back and start bringing more entertainment to the pub.
“We have made a few changes, for example, we have a whole new range of draught beers including: Cruzcampo, Pale Ale Brixton Reliance, Berries & Cherries Old Mout, Aspall Cyder and Inch's Cider.
“We also aim to have four cask ales on – at the moment we have two – and we will be keeping Coors on draught too.”
Both partners have previous experience in pub management and say they were please to retain all the staff members.
Lisa said: “We have a whole new menu that will all be freshly cooked, and the meat and fish will be locally sourced.
“We will cater to gluten intolerances, vegetarians, and vegans. We will start off with a reduced menu but as we find our feet, this will expand.
“We eventually want to start opening for breakfasts too.”
At the moment, some of the new menu items will include favourites like lamb wellington and hot pot as well as a vegetarian wellington.
Lamb, beef chicken and vegetarian burgers will also be available.
Other hopes for the future include a weekly quiz night, monthly open mic night and live entertainment every other Friday and Sunday afternoon.
Lisa added: “We have a lot planned and we have Sky Sports back on too, but we don’t want that to be the sole focus of the pub.
“There is also whole new wine range too, so we are looking to do wine pairings with the meals.”
The new managers are also looking for some more kitchen team members and front of house team members.
The Garsdale will re-open this Friday, October 27, from 4pm with the new menu and live entertainment from Rik Enty at 8pm.
