An insurance broker firm in Ramsbottom held its fourth annual charity event.

Munro Greenhalgh Insurance Brokers, based in Ramsbottom, held a ‘The Oscars’ themed charity ball to raise money for Bury Hospice.

The evening was held at The Stables Country Club in Walshaw and attended by around 200 ‘stars’ who included local businesses and friends and family of staff at the firm.

People were asked to either dress in black tie or take a shot at dressing as a Hollywood star, with a Marilyn Monroe and a Mrs Doubtfire making an appearance.

Dazzling entertainment for the night included Irish Dancers, a fiddle player, and a Take That tribute band.

The main fundraiser was a raffle with big value prizes donated by local businesses and people, such as a dinner for two donated by Owens Restaurant in Ramsbottom and a ‘Fortnum & Mason’ hamper donated by a customer of the Brokers.

‘MC’ for the event was ex-Tower Fm presenter Jon Holling.

Popular local photographer, Stephen Redfern, also based in Ramsbottom, captured the fun of the night in these featured images.

Ian Hayes, Director at Munro Greenhalgh said: “A massive thank you to everyone who came, The Stables for hosting, all the entertainers and the businesses who provided prizes for the raffle.

“We all had a tremendous night, and raising much needed monies for the Hospice makes it even more enjoyable.”

The firm has held three previous annual events including a casino night.

Two of the previous events were raising for Bury Hospice and another was for Cancer Research.

Hayes said charities are very close to the heart of those at Munro Greenhalgh after Bury Hospice provided ‘brilliant’ care for someone close to the firm.
