Bury's motorists will have 12 road closures to avoid on the National Highways network this week.

Ten of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 12 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A56, from 9pm October 17 to 5am October 18, moderate delays of 10 to 30 minutes: M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane  carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 8.30pm October 18 to 5am December 8, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 both directions junction 18 to junction 16 - lane closure for construction improvement/upgrade.

• A56, from 9pm October 18 to 5am October 19, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound and southbound, junction 0 - two lane closure carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

• A56, from 9pm October 19 to 5am October 20, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound and southbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M60, from 9pm October 19 to 5am November 1, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M62 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure and slip road closures for communications.

• M66, from 9pm October 20 to 5am October 21, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 both directions, junction 2 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M66, from 9pm October 21 to 5am October 22, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound and southbound, junction 3 - two lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm October 23 to 5am October 24, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 clockwise junction 17 - 18 - M66 northbound, junction 3 - two lane closures and carriageway closures.

• M60, from 9pm October 24 to 5.30am October 26, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M62 eastbound, junction 18 – 20, lane closures and closures of slips due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm October 25 to 5am October 26, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M62 westbound, junction 20 to junction 18 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 8.30pm October 26 to 5am October 27, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm October 30 to 5am October 31, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 clockwise and anticlockwise, junction 18 carriageway closure due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
