Stars from Bury and Bolton wowed fans on the red carpet last night at the 2023 Pride of Britain Awards.
The event was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, yesterday, October 8, and celebrated the achievements of 'truly remarkable people who make the world a better place'.
Winners are from all walks of life and ages, from all over the country and are nominated by the public before being whittled down to a shortlist from which a judging panel, made up of celebrated figures in national life, chose the winners.
A host of stars from Bury and Bolton celebrated the event and wowed on the red carpet with their outfit options.
Bury’s very own Strictly star, Layton Williams, took to the red carpet with professional dance partner, Nikita Kuzmin, who recently visited the town filming for the show at Peel Tower.
Layton, who is a West End performer and actor was seen in an oversized hat and suit on the red carpet.
He also shared a photo of himself and Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton, also from Bury, on his Instagram story after bumping into him at a hotel ahead of the awards.
Former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks actress, Nikki Sanderson, who was born in Blackpool and brought up in Bury also made an appearance for the awards.
She was seen wearing a sparkling Karen Millen dress and pictured alongside her partner Anthony Quinlan, known for his performances in Hollyoaks and Emmerdale.
Bury-born star Gemma Atkinson made her appearance alongside fiancé and Strictly professional Gorka Marqez, wearing a deep red trouser suit from Manchester brand Samaiira.
Following the event, she told her fans on Instagram that she had a 'lovely evening'.
She said: "Oh my gosh, all I'm going to say is when you watch it on telly, Echo the Dog, that's all I'm saying.
"When you see that little clip, oh my goodness, watching it, especially now as a mum, you just think please God please keep my family safe."
She also thanked fans who complemented her outfit adding: "I told Ryan I needed pants, I can't be sat in a frock, and he sourced it all, it was amazing."
Helen Flanagan, aged 33 from Bury, took to the red carpet wearing a floor-length black Oh Polly dress with a channel clutch bag.
The former Westholme School pupil said she had been 'looking forward to the Pride of Britain' Awards and later shared a snap of herself with actress and singer Denise Van Outen.
Olympic champions and husband and wife, Jason and Laura Kenny made an appearance on the carpet too, joining the list of famous stars.
Jason, who is from Bolton, attended Mount St Joseph School in Farnworth before becoming a seven time Olympic Champion and three time World Champion in cycling.
After the evening, he said: "There hasn’t been a dull moment since we [he and Laura] met and last night was no different as we had to sprint out of @prideofbritain half way through so that super mum @laurakenny31 could give Monty a bit of supper".
Public figure Christine McGuinness, who recently split from Bolton comedian and presenter Paddy McGuinness, arrived at the evening in a floor length red dress from Cinders Party Dress Uk.
In a video posted on Instagram the mum of three said it is 'always an honour to attend' the Pride of Britain Awards.
Despite the evening taking place on Sunday, the ceremony will be aired on ITV on Thursday October 12 at 8pm.
Since the first Pride of Britain in 1999, royalty, prime ministers, and hundreds of leading figures from showbusiness, sport, politics and the arts have all taken part.
