An inquest has opened into the tragic death of a woman from Bury who suffered from anorexia and malnutrition.
Liza-Jayne Hall was found dead at her home on Myrtle Gardens in Bury on December 19 last year, aged 32.
Police coroners officer Tracey Bunn said that since October last year, Ms Hall had suffered from gastroenteritis, and in the days leading up to her death she had a chest infection.
Her mum took her to Fairfield General Hospital on December 18 and was discharged with medication that same day.
It was recorded that Ms Hall had a body mass index (BMI) of 14 (a BMI less than 18 is considered underweight by health bodies), and upon leaving the taxi that brought her from the hospital, she fainted when arriving into her house.
The next morning, on December 19, her mum found her dead on a sofa, the court was told.
There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
A postmortem investigation found that Ms Hall died from anorexia, malnutrition and pneumonia.
Assistant coroner for Manchester North, Julie Mitchell, set a date for the inquest to resume in March next year.
Rochdale Coroners' Court was told that Hall was single and unemployed at the time of her death and died at home.
