The rebuilding of a Bury bar is now underway after a ‘devastating’ fire in April.
Stanley's, situated on Silver Street, has been given the green light to start rebuilding after a fire caused the venue to close for several months.
It was reported that a bin compound at the rear of Stanley’s caught fire, causing several buildings in the area to be smoke-logged.
Stanley’s received most of the damage with firefighters describing the flames as “licking up the back of the building, breaching the ground floor and first floor”.
After months of being closed, the venue announced via Facebook on Friday that work towards its return has begun.
A spokesperson said: “We're thrilled to share that the rebuilding of Stanley's of Bury is officially underway!
“After the devastating fire in April, we've been working tirelessly to bring back Stanleys of Bury.
“To all our amazing patrons, thank you for standing by us through thick and thin.
“We can't wait to welcome you back. Stay tuned for progress updates, sneak peeks, and of course, the grand reopening date.

The news that the community cocktail bar and live music venue will make a return has been met with positivity as a previous customer said: “I look forward to some great nights in Stanley’s again.”
Another added: “Fantastic, I, and Bury, have certainly missed Stanley’s” and “The quiz night and cheese better come back”.
As well as the Silver Street venue, there is a second Stanley’s bar in Tottington, situated on Market Street.
Rebuilding progress updates, sneak peeks and a re-opening date will be announced via Stanley's social media pages.
