The Met Office has issued a warning for thunderstorms in Bury, as well as a heat health alert.
A yellow weather warning is in place across the country for thunderstorms on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10.

Parts of Bury and Bolton are covered by the warning today, Saturday, which is expected to last from 2pm until 9pm.
All of Bury and Bolton will be covered by the warning tomorrow, which is expected to last from 2pm until 11.59pm.

There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
Yesterday, Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Dan Harris said: “Although a plume of warm air will bring temperatures up to around 30°C in some parts of England, it brings with it the risk of some impactful thunderstorms.
“The general focus area for Saturday has become better defined over the past 24 hours, which has resulted in sufficient confidence to issue a 'very low likelihood” yellow thunderstorm warning.”
