An alleged drug driver was arrested after at first being stopped for having no insurance.
Police stopped the black Audi in the Prestwich area over the course of Monday.
After having first found that the driver had allowed his insurance to lapse they then found he was also committing another serious offence while out on the roads.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Another one intercepted by our GMP Specials.
“The driver let his insurance lapse, over two months, and didn't ensure the renewal.
“Oh....and he was also arrested for drug driving!”
As well as arresting the driver, officers have confirmed that the Audi was seized.
An image supplied by police shows the car being towed away.
This comes amid long running concerns about crime on the roads in Bury and further afield across Greater Manchester in recent months including cases of car theft, dangerous driving, driving without licences and driving without insurance.
Police have also reported recent cases of drink driving and drug driving.
Officers have urged anyone with any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour on the roads or otherwise in their communities to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can also call independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
