Two bars in Prestwich have said they will be closed tonight, Tuesday, due to police advice with a football match set to kick off in nearby Salford.
Salford City host Leeds United in the Carabao Cup at the Peninsula Stadium in Kersal Moor.
Ahead of the 8pm kick off, The Crooked Man Bar and Keg, Cask and Bottle in Prestwich said they will both be closed after a previous encounter between the sides when there was said to have been problems.

A spokesperson for The Crooked Man Bar, which has not opened at all today, said: “It is the Leeds vs Salford match tonight.
“Police have advised other places in Prestwich not to open.”
The Keg, Cask and Bottle closed its doors at 4pm.

A spokesperson for the Keg, Cask and Bottle said: “It’s the Salford vs Leeds game.
“Apparently, the last time they played there was a lot of disruption in Prestwich.

“GMP visited our premises around 3pm and advised us to close before the visiting team’s fans arrived in Prestwich at 5pm.”
It is thought other bars in the area will also be closing before kick off too.
All bars will reopen as normal tomorrow, Wednesday.
