A Bury shopping centre has been shortlisted for a national award.

The Mill Gate Shopping Centre has been nominated nominated in the Customers Service Team of the Year category at the Sceptre Awards 2023.

There are more than 30 staff members in the shopping centre’s team including centre management, customer service, cleaning, security and maintenance.

Mill Gate’s centre manager Angela Tierney said: “We pride ourselves on our customer service to ensure that everyone who visits Mill Gate has the best possible experience.

“We’re obviously thrilled to have been shortlisted and fingers crossed, we may even be winners in a few months’ time!”

The centre has been shortlisted alongside The Trafford Centre, St Johns Liverpool, Jackson Square Shopping Centre (Bishop Stortford), Gunwharf Quays (Portsmouth), Clarks Village (Somerset) and Broughton Shopping Park (Chester).

The team will discover who wins the award on October 19 at a black tie awards evening.

This will take place at the Hilton, London Bankside and will include a gala dinner, entertainment from a celebrity host and prizegiving. The Sceptre Awards recognise best practice and people in the shopping centre industry.
