A legacy of Bury’s industrial heritage was set to disappear forever when this photo was taken in 1970.
Campaigners failed in a bid to prevent this section of Rochdale Old Road from being demolished.
The terrace of three-storey weavers’ cottages was one of the few such terraces in the town at the time.
The top floor with extra windows for light would have been used for home weaving and were a familiar sight during the textile boom.
