Two financial advisors are in the running to win an award at a ceremony which champions the work of women in the industry.
Sarah Kendell and Jenny Loftus, who work at Bury-based firm, The Financial Options Group, have been shortlisted for gongs in the Women in Financial Advice Awards.
They are in contention for winning the North West Financial Adviser of the Year accolade.
The awards celebrates the achievements of women and recognises their strong efforts in a sector where they continue to be under-represented.
The pair were previously shortlisted back in 2020 out of 1,300 nominations but were unable to attend due to Covid restrictions.
Since then, Jenny has achieved chartered status in the company, which requires five or more years of experience and up to 1,000 hours of study.
Meanwhile, Sarah has been listed three years consecutively in The Times’ Top Rated Financial Advisers Guide, in association with VouchedFor, as well as overseeing the firm’s charitable foundation, which has donated tens of thousands of pounds to causes such as Bury Hospice and Bury Cancer Support Centre.
Despite the gender pay gap and lack of senior female roles, the awards hope to inspire more women to work in the division and fulfil their potential.
Jenny said: "I have been so proud to promote the advancement of women in financial advice and to inspire other women to pursue their own career growth in the sector.
"To be recognised in this way is an honour, and I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to The Financial Options Group for supporting me every step of the way."
Sarah added: ‘While we have seen significant progress among women in the sector, there’s still so much work to do in promoting financial advice as an excellent career option for girls and young women to explore.
"I hope the awards go far in raising awareness and empowering the next generation."
The event will take place on November 1 at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
