A study has found that Bury made it into the top 10 safest places to live in the UK.
Research conducted by OutdoorToys found that Bury scored an overall safety index of 66.18 with only Warrington, Rotherham and York coming above.
The study looked into several factors like average annual salary, safety, and things to do which all contribute to a happy and well-balanced family life.

The research said: “Residents of this town are not worried about crime rates thanks to low reports of robberies, stolen cars and violent crimes.
“Ranking in the top 10, Bury is a great choice of city to settle into family life.”
Bury also scored as the eighth area in the UK with the happiest families with it being the happiest place for families in Greater Manchester.

The area has seven things to do per 10,000 people and a safety index score of 66.18, making it perfect for families who are looking to spend time together in a safe environment.
Bury also has 69 per cent of schools with a "good" or "outstanding" Ofsted rating, making it one to consider for those who want the best education for their children.

At the other end of the scale, Rochdale and Salford were deemed the unsafest places to live in the UK, and Salford also took the title of the area with the unhappiest families too.
