Scarecrows have invaded a Bury estate for the first time, with a range of characters on display outside homes.
The inaugural Seddons Farm Scarecrow Festival is taking place throughout August after residents adopted the idea and brought it to the estate.
And more than 40 scarecrows are already on show, bringing joy to the area.
Scarecrows are on show in gardens across the area and free maps have been drawn up to help scarecrow hunters visit each one.
The organiser of the festival, Rebecca Heywood, said: “We have already seen so many people out looking for them, it is a nice, fun and free thing to do during the summer holidays.
“We bought a big bundle of hay for people to dip into when making their scarecrows and have been printing off maps and lists of all the scarecrows, which are free to pick up.”
The maps can be found in a box at the bottom of Freckleton Drive, via the shops on Mile Lane, or on Colville Drive.
Visitors are also being urged to vote for their favourite scarecrow via the Seddons Farm Scarecrow Festival Facebook Page or a ballot box at the bottom of Freckleton Drive.
Owner of the most liked scarecrow will win a fire pit courtesy of Tesco at Woodfields Retail Park.
Tesco community champion Wendy Howarth said: “Thank you for asking Tesco Bury for help with donations, I was more than happy to help.
"It’s great to see the community coming together to brighten up our outdoor spaces, and to see everyone making amazing scarecrows, it’s been so good for the children to be able to get involved too.
"Tesco Bury loves helping out in the community."
Although a few people missed entry dates, there have been several new scarecrows popping up in the area.
Some people, who were unable to make or complete their scarecrows, have been helped by kind neighbours who finished or even built them on their behalf.
One resident, who has been getting involved with the festival, said: “The community spirit is brilliant, with residents sharing ideas along with straw.”

Another added: “It has been lovely seeing so many people and families walking or driving through the estate to look for all the different creations, some of them are hilarious.”
Rebecca, who has also created a scarecrow dubbed “Crowing Old Disgracefully”, added: “We had a young family walk by the other day and one of the children pointed at it and said it looked like mummy and daddy."
The scarecrows can be viewed until August 31.
