Men armed with a crowbar, axe and hammer robbed a car in Whitefield last weekend.

The terrifying incident happened on Sunday, July 23 when four men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas were seen in the Park Lane area of Whitefield, near Sedgley Park Rugby Club, at around 9.15pm.

They attacked occupants of a white car, stole some items and ran off in the direction of Philips Park.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw men loitering in the area to get in touch.

A spokesperson for Bury North Police said: “Police are investigating a report of a robbery that occurred in the Park Lane area of Whitefield near Sedgley Park Rugby Club on Sunday, July 23 at around 9.15pm.

“Four males wearing dark clothing and balaclavas armed with a crowbar, axe and hammer have attacked the occupants of a white vehicle and taken items from the car and then run off towards the Philips Park area.

“DC Potter from Bury police's neighbourhood crime team is asking for anyone who may have seen males loitering in this area around this time to get in touch with on 0161 8568222 or 19123@gmp.police.uk, quoting ref: 3257 23/07/23.”
