A pre-school which has been in Prestwich for almost 60 years is to close due to "increasing costs".
St Margaret’s Pre-school on Polefield Road in Prestwich has been in the heart of the communitysince starting with a group of mums volunteering to run the childcare service.
Over the years it has grown into a thriving setting.

Generations of youngsters have attended the pre-school over the years with parents who went there as children chosing it for their own little ones.
Stephanie Walsh, a member of the committee that runs the pre-school said: “The amazing caring and dedicated staff members have all started out as mums who brought their toddlers to the heart warming and caring place that is St Margaret’s to inspire their young minds.”

The pre-school prides itself on nurturing children to prepare them for school and also to develop important life skills and happy and fond memories.
Stephanie added: “Unfortunately, due to increasing costs and the aftermath of Covid, it’s been a truly heartbreaking decision to make, but St Margaret’s pre school will close its doors for the last time on Wednesday, 19 July.

“The staff, trustees and many families are deeply devastated but we will all remember the many years this pre school has been the start to our children’s lives and a great heart in the community.”
