Bury College adult learners on the Multi Skills Level 1 Award have been supported with free skills kits including key items like a tool kit and drill.
The free skills kits include drills, saws, screwdrivers and essential tools needed for construction courses.
They are available to support learners to carry out practical elements of the course.
Learners on the Multi Skills Level 1 have spoken about how the skills kits have helped them learn important skills for the workplace and DIY tasks at home.

Christine Seal said: “Thanks to the amazing staff and support, I have been able to learn basic DIY skills to use around the house and have even started plastering!
“The bonus of the Skills Kit has meant I can start tasks whenever I want.”
Muhammad Khurshid Alam added: “I have always been fascinated by construction. This course has given me great insight and has taught me some key skills.”

Alison Mooney praised the course for helping with her confidence. She said: “Thanks to this course, I now feel more confident than ever in tackling any DIY job around the house.”
During this Multi Skills Level 1 evening course, learners have completed practical tasks across carpentry, bricklaying, plastering, painting, electrical and plumbing.
These tasks included mixing and using concrete, fitting locks and hinges and patch plastering to name a few.

Perry Cuppello, Assistant Director for Construction at Bury College, said: “Learners were recently overjoyed to receive a toolkit that will help them in their DIY activities or to move forward into the industry.
“It has been a pleasure having these motivated learners with us to complete their qualification as all have embraced the opportunity to succeed.”
