Employees from a Bury firm have cycled 850 miles to celebrate the importance of electrical recycling.
Workers at REPIC, based at Waterfold Business Park, have completed the long journey which started at Alness in the Scottish Highlands on June 2 and finished in Sittingbourne in Kent on June 16.
The challenge was the REPIC WEEE Cycle Network event, which was held to highlight the importance of electrical recycling in the UK.
The 15-day event marked 15 years of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) recycling.
Riders were led over the finishing line by REPIC chief executive Louise Grantham with the final rider, Andy Kellar, REPIC’s contract services manager, enjoying a well-deserved round of applause from the crowd as the only pedal bike rider to complete the full distance over the course of the 15 days.

The final two stages saw the event travel through London, passing through parks in the city and key landmarks.
The occasion was also marked by a meeting with Recycling Minister Rebecca Pow outside the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs' Marsham Street offices.

Throughout the event, employees heard of stories of disadvantaged families receiving refurbished electrical items and recycling schemes that help to conserve valuable natural resources.
And it served as a platform to discuss the future of reuse and recycling of electricals in the UK.

Ms Grantham said: “The unwavering commitment and enthusiasm of the REPIC team and all our guest riders to complete this 15-day journey have truly made this an experience to remember.
“I hope the experience, friendships and camaraderie built over these 15 days will continue to inspire and further support the sector’s advancements in developing a more circular economy for electricals.”
REPIC and its sponsors have also pledged to donate a total of £15,000 to various good causes associated with the event route.
