Pieces are moving into place for Ramsbottom Jigsaw Festival later this year.

The event will be taking place at St Paul’s Church on Bridge Street from Wednesday, September 6 to Saturday, September 9.

The ninth annual event, organised by members of Edenfield Parish Church and St Paul’s, has raised more than £50,000 since the first festival in 2014, which has been divided equally between the two churches.

As part of the preparations for this year's event, organisers are holding a second "flash clearance sale" of some of the unsold puzzles from previous years to create space in the two churches for this year’s fresh puzzle intake.

Everything will be sold at just £3 each, both made up and boxed puzzles.

The sale at St Paul’s is on Saturday, June 24 from 10am to 1pm.

St Paul’s Parish Room will also be open as usual between 10am and 12pm for the church's weekly coffee morning and the sale of toast, bacon sandwiches and other items.

Members of the festival organising team will also be on hand at St Paul’s on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month until August 12 between 10am and 12pm for anyone who wishes to collect unmade puzzles for the festival or return completed ones.

The organisers are also looking for volunteers to help to staff the event. Anyone interested can email rammyjigsaw@aol.com for more details.
