A school in Heywood has closed for the day after reports of a ‘threat’ were made this morning.

Holy Family RC and CE college on Wilton Grove in Heywood sent all students home after a ‘threat’ was made at around 10am.

Its unknown what the nature of the ‘threat’ is but police are at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “At around 10am today (Monday, 12 June), officers were called to a report of a threat made towards Holy Family RC and CE college in Wilton Grove, Heywood.
“Officers have attended, and enquiries are ongoing.
“The school has closed as a precaution and is expected to re-open as normal tomorrow.”
