Police were called to Bury town centre after concerns for a man's welfare.
Officers were called to Bolton Street on Saturday at 3.40pm.
They were mobilised after residents in the area also expressed concern.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At 3:40pm yesterday (June 3), officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare of a male on Bolton Street in Bury.”
Police say that the man has since been taken to hospital following the incident.
North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
There have been reports that the road was closed for a period of time, but this has not been confirmed.
