Taken in 1978, this photo marks a time when electronic music was still a relatively new thing.
Synthesisers had begun to be made popular by so-called prog rock groups such as Yes and within a couple of years, the electronic sound would be dominating the charts through groups such as the Human League.
But a travelling exhibition from London’s Science Museum at Bury Art Gallery gave people the chance to see - and hear - this new technology.
Sarah Silver, a member of Bury Museum staff, tries out one of the exhibits in this photo.
