There were no Metrolink services running between Bury and Crumpsall for several hours this afternoon, Thursday, due to a tree resting on the overhead line between these stops.
Tickets and passes were being accepted on buses while the problem was being resolved.

A spokesperson for Manchester Metrolink said: “Due to a tree resting on the overhead line, there are no services operating between Bury and Crumpsall.
“Tickets and passes are being accepted on the 17, 18, 41, 52, 53, 56, 66, 90, 95, 97, 98, 112, 117, 118, 119, 135, 156, 163, 524 bus services.”

But at around 5pm, Manchester Metrolink said the tree had been removed and the services were running as normal.
Services from Crumpsall going into Manchester city centre were running as normal.
