A popular carnival is set to return to Radcliffe, boasting an exciting line-up of acts and events.
The annual Radcliffe Carnival, which has been a staple in the town’s calendar for more than 50 years, will take place on Saturday, June 3 with a variety of performances, activities and events for residents of all ages.
The carnival will be held at its usual venue at Redbank Playing Fields from 10am to 6pm.
Due to the FA Cup Final, its parade will begin at the earlier time of 1pm and on the advice of police, will have a slightly shorter route.

The event will also feature it’s very first dog show, hosted by Barking Mad Rescue, which invites owners to enter their furry-friends into a variety of fun categories, including Golden Oldie, Most Mischievous and Dog with the Waggiest Tail.
Refreshments, including ice creams and soft drinks will be made available and a number of stall holders will be selling crafts, or sharing information with carnival-goers.

Organiser Amanda Rhead says the carnival will be “bigger than ever” this year with event more acts being put on following the parade.
The carnival is free to enter but attendees are invited to donate towards to cost next year’s event, with remaining funds given to good local causes.
Organisers are encouraging attendees to leave their cars at home and attend on foot, but say street parking is available on roads without restrictions.
Redbank Playing Fields is around a 10 to 15 minute walk from Radcliffe Tram Stop.
