The following people from Bury has recently been dealt with by magistrates.

These people have all been in the dock in the last two months.

Lee Brooks was required by police to identify the driver of a BMW in July last year.

The driver of the vehicle was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

Brooks, 46 and from Tennyson Avenue, Bury, admitted that he failed to tell the police.

At Tameside Magistrates Court was fined £135, ordered to pay further costs of £239 and banned from the roads for six months.

He was banned due to “repeat offending” however the court took his guilty plea into account.

Jack Rimmer was in control of a Fiat Punto while under the influence of cannabis.

The 19-year-old admitted the offence, which took place on Wellington Street, Bury, in September last year at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.

He also admitted being in possession of cannabis.

Rimmer, of Fairfield Street, Bury, was fined £200 and ordered to pay further costs of £165.

As well as this he was banned from the roads for a period of three months.

Sulaimana Rehman was found in possession of cannabis.

He admitted the offence which took place in February this year Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.

Rehman, 24,  from Richmond Avenue, Prestwich, was fined £230 and the court ordered the destruction of the drug he was found with.

Shabaz Shamin drove a Toyota Yaris while under the influence of cannabis.

The 22-year-old admitted the offence, which took place in August last year on Hamilton Street, Bury, when the case called at the Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.

Following this Shamin, from Rydal Close, Bury, was hit with a fine of £333 ordered to pay further costs of £214.

He was also banned from the roads for a period of a year with the guilty plea being taken into account by the court.
