Emergency services were called to Bury town centre this morning after concern for a man’s welfare was reported.
A section of Bolton Street, outside Bury Bolton railway station was cordoned off due to concern for a man’s welfare near to the bridge.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers are responding to reports of concern for welfare of a man on Bolton Street in Bury.”
A total of five police cars, two ambulances and two fire engines were at the scene and had been there since 8.30am.

The Trackside Pub was also closed for a period of time but reopened just after midday.
A Greater Manchester police spokesperson said: "Officers were called due to concern for welfare of a man at around 8.40am this morning.
"Officers attended and he was taken to safety."
The road was reopened at 12.15pm.
