Celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles III were in full swing in Bury, with parties set to continue into tomorrow.
Residents of Swinton Crescent in Unsworth held their street party today. A long table stretched down the street with a gazebo and even "King Charles" came along to join in with the festivities.
Anne Bradbury, one of the organisers said: “We all get on so well on this street.
“We have Christmas dinners together. Last year we did a big party for the Platinum Jubilee and VE day when we all sat on our drives.
“We always have a good turnout and it’s always good.”
Another resident said: “At any big event we always get the street together. At Christmas we always get together for a meal and a disco. It’s a really great street to live on.”
Residents looked resplendent in crowns, Union Jack themed hats and royal outfits.
On Freckleton Drive in Bury, residents also celebrated the Coronation today.
Flags were flying, King Charles masks were worn and a bouncy castle was enjoyed along with food and drinks.
The road was shut off to cars from 11am to 2pm.
On the day King Charles was Coronated, residents of Summerseat gathered outside The Hamer’s Arms and The Footballers for a street party.
Everyone was welcome and there was a live DJ, bouncy castle and a BBQ with drinks available to be bought at both pubs.
Bury North MP James Daly and Cllr Liam James Dean made an appearance at the celebrations.
Around the Greenmount and Holcombe Brook area, Coronation themed postbox toppers were spotted, one with a knitted King Charles and Queen Camilla on Longsight Road and another with castle and Charles and Camilla depicted as mice on Vernon Road.
Themed postbox toppers have been appearing across Bury and change whenever there is a notable event or celebration.
