A pedestrian suffered serious injuries on a motorway after a collision with a heavy goods vehicle.
Part of the M66 was closed off yesterday evening after the incident, the circumstances of which are not known.
Now police are appealing for information, particularly dashcam footage, to further their investigation.
The road traffic collision took place on junction 3 of the M66 northbound.
Emergency services were called at around 6.30pm and the road was closed throughout the evening.
The southbound carriageway was also closed to give access and space to an air ambulance.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal for information following a road traffic collision on the Northbound carriageway of the M66.
"Yesterday evening (Tuesday 2 May 2023) around 6.30pm, officers were called to reports of collision involving a pedestrian and an HGV.
"The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
"GMP are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any footage of the incident – including CCTV or dashcam - to please contact GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU).

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has now appealed for information following the collision as well as witnesses or anyone who may have any footage of the incident, including CCTV or dashcam.
