Demands on the health service were clearly a lot less than they are today if this photo is anything to go by.
Taken in 1962 it shows the outpatients department at Bury General Hospital. Perhaps the most striking thing is the fact that there is a solitary ambulance outside compared to the large number of emergency vehicles you see queued up at what is now Fairfield Hospital today.
