Bicycle owners are being encouraged to get their bikes marked for free by police in Ramsbottom next week to deter thieves

Bury North neighbourhood officers will be offering a free bike marking service at The Ramsbottom Urn on Thursday, April 20, as way to crack down on thefts.

The session will take place between 6pm and 8pm is also aimed at increasing the chances of owners finding their bikes if they are stolen.

On social media, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Calling all bicycle owners, want to deter thieves from stealing your bicycle or increase the chance of you being reunited with it if it's ever stolen?
