A new Bury Hospice charity shop has opened its doors in Radcliffe.

The shop is located at 109 Blackburn Street.

We have all been so excited to open our new shop.

There has been a buzz for many weeks with passers-by looking in, awaiting our anticipated opening.

We are in a prime spot and we cannot wait to welcome more customers to our store.

Amber Wood, head of retail at the hospice, said: “We have some great stock in store and some bargains so please do pop in if you’re in the area, we would also be really grateful if you could share the news with your connections, family and friends.”

The hospice has several charity shops throughout the borough, including Bury town centre, Radcliffe, Prestwich and Ramsbottom.

Our shops sell donated items, such as clothing, accessories, good quality bric-a-brac, toys and games.

It costs £4m to run the hospice.

Our shops provide a regular and sustainable source of income that supports the work of the hospice, contributing to nearly one third of our income.

As part of our retail offering we also have a dedicated bridal shop, Brides of Bury.

Our bridal boutique sells new and pre-loved wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, a selection of evening wear, prom dresses, shoes and accessories.

Manager Sandra Beverley has more than 30 years of experience in the bridal retail sector and leads the team in providing an exceptional service to our customers.

We also have an e-commerce team who are based in Radcliffe.

Our eBay store provides a great place for people to pick up pre-loved items or find a hidden treasure.

Every penny spent in our shops supports our patient care so our customers get that feel good factor whilst knowing they are making a difference.

Vital to the hospice are the volunteers who work in our shops and warehouse and we are looking to recruit more people to the roles.

At the hospice we recognise and value the important role our staff and volunteers play in enabling a thriving and successful hospice and we are proud to be supported by a committed and loyal workforce of more than 250 volunteers.

As a retail volunteer, your duties would involve preparing items for sale, sorting, steaming, labelling and supporting our staff on the shop floor, providing friendly customer service and helping to generate income for the hospice.
