A well known restaurant in Ramsbottom has closed.
Levanter on Square Street has shut its doors for the last time after nine years.
In a social media post tonight, Tuesday, the restaurant said it has been struggling with industry pressures and thanked its customers, staff and suppliers for their support.
A restaurant spokesperson said: "We're so sorry to confirm that Levanter is closed.
"We could list all the reasons why but ultimately the high street and suburbs hospitality, in particular, is being so squeezed we cannot breathe or see a single sunlit upland.
"Huge thank you to all our loyal guests over the last nine years, many of whom have sent us the most wonderful messages of support today.
"Thank you to our longstanding suppliers who we know are facing the same pressures as restaurants are.
"Love to all our beautiful team, so loyal, so hardworking, we did our best."
In January, the premises closed its bar and dining room area due to rising costs such as an "untenable hike in energy prices".
It was hoped that that the downsize would only be a temporary measure until the summer but the restaurant has carried on struggling.
Many customers shared their support and sadness following the announcement, writing comments on the post.
One said: "What a loss to Rammy.
"Such sad news but we all understand how hard it is.
"Thank you for the many joyful meals we've had at Levanter over the years, which was consistently impeccable, welcoming and delicious."
Another added: "So sorry for you all, my favourite go to place. Used to love a meal at the bar of all places.
"So sorry for all your staff who were rising stars in hospitality."
A third said: "So sorry you had to make this awful decision.
"You really should be so proud of what you achieved and this outcome was sadly out of your control.
"You will definitely be missed and I wish you well for the future.
"Thank you for the amazing food and atmosphere you brought to us."
