Some of the first acts have been announced for the upcoming East Lancashire Railway (ELR) 1940s weekend at the end of May.

The old-fashioned vintage event is making a triumphant return with music, living history displays and plenty of period appropriate fashion.

The event will be taking place on the bank holiday weekend from Saturday, May 27 to Monday, May 29.

Each of the ELR stations - Bury Bolton Street, Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall and Heywood - will be hosting live performances and be transformed into authentic recreations from the period.

Lots of acts will be showcasing their talent across the weekend and here are some of many that people can expect to see.

Lilli Moore will be performing live at the event and covers a wide range of styles, specialising in music from the 1940s.

She is a classic singer with a retro style, and her idols include greats like Vera Lynn, Ella Fitzgerald and the Andrews Sisters.

She will be performing at Ramsbottom Station on Sunday, May 28.

The Lancashire Belle will be at Bury Station on the Sunday and has a well-deserved reputation as a classy and sophisticated vintage act, whether she is performing heartfelt songs from the home front or upping the tempo with a lively dance number.

The A-Train Swing provides vintage themed dance classes and is a great way to get into the swing of the event.

They will be at Bury Transport Museum from 12pm until 4pm on the Sunday.
