A nursery in Walmersley has thanked “passionate and dedicated” staff after receiving the results of its first ever inspection by the education watchdog.
Tiddlywinks Nursery on Talbot Grove was given an overall rating of "outstanding" by regulator Ofsted whose inspectors called the early years setting "remarkable".
Following an inspection last month the nursery was given an "outstanding" rating for each of the area in which it was assessed, including the quality of education and leadership and management.
Inspectors noted that “children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), flourish and succeed at this remarkable nursery".
The report said: “Classrooms are full of chatter and excitement as there is so much to talk about.”
Tiddlywinks Nursery Walmersley joined local family run chain, Tiddlywinks Nursery Group in January 2021 as its seventh location.

The group is celebrating a double win as its oldest nursery based in Blackley also achieved outstanding for the third consecutive inspection last month.
The report, published this week, said: “Children develop an impressive depth of knowledge, including about science.
"This is because staff believe that children deserve the very best curriculum.
“Leaders use their detailed knowledge of the nursery's strengths and priorities to provide staff with extensive support and exceptional training.
"Staff very competently improve the curriculum and their work with children."
Nursery director Imelda Mihell said: “I am overjoyed to have achieved an outstanding grade with Ofsted for our newest nursery.
“The report is a joy to read and a true testimony to the continued hard work, commitment and dedication our team provide every day to our children.
“Tiddlywinks main goal is to provide every child with the highest quality care and education in their early years.
"We are extremely proud to continue with this ethos and to have this recognised again.

“A huge thank you to our families and of course our wonderful children.
"They truly are a pleasure to teach, filling each day with fun, love and laughter.”
Nursery manager Katie Cryer said: “My team and I are absolutely delighted with our recent outstanding Ofsted result.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff team.
“They are passionate and dedicated in the success of each and every child’s growth and development and they work hard to maintain high standards of care and education every day.
“To be officially recognised by Ofsted is a great feeling for us all and for myself, in my first inspection as a manager, this has been an overwhelming achievement."
