A crash on a major road on the border of Bury led to delays this afternoon, Friday.
The A58 Bolton Road, which leads to Bury, was partially blocked both ways after an accident at the junction with Waterloo Street.
There were heavy queues eastbound from Mill Lane onto Peel Way, Jubilee Way and Angouleme Way.
Traffic data system Inrix reported: “A58 Bolton Road Eastbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at B6213 Waterloo Street. Delays into Bury.”
Drivers were warned to take caution if already on approach and to avoid the area if possible, planning alternative routes.
Traffic due to the incident was also spilling onto Manchester Road.
Manchester Traffic tweeted: “A58 Bolton St at Crostons Rd, Bury partially blocked both ways after a collision on the junction.
“Queues along Bolton Rd e/b from Mill Lane, w/b onto Peel Way, Jubilee Way, Angouleme Way and Manchester Road.”
