Plans to extend the opening hours of the Mercedes-Benz car dealership in Whitefield are set to be put under the spotlight this week.
The Manchester Road dealership is currently open from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
But plans have been put forward to increase them from 6am to 10pm on Monday to Friday and 6am to 5pm on Saturdays, with the same hours on Sundays.

It is hoped that the longer hours would allow customers to drop off and collect cars over a longer period of time.
Customers would use the existing car park at the front of the site and would drop their keys off at the main reception in the showroom at the front of the building.
Neighbouring properties were notified of the proposals in December last year and eight letters were received which pointed out a number of concerns.

Fears over the extension in hours leading to longer parking of employee and customer cars outside residents' homes causing problems have been aired.
Traffic, pollution and lighting concerns have been mentioned too.
But residents have been told that the number of vehicles accessing the site would be spread out over a longer period of time which would prevent queuing and there would not be a significant increase in the number of vehicles using the car park or an adverse noise impact.

In terms of limiting noise and disturbance to residents, it is proposed to include a planning condition that would prevent the movement of cars from the car park to the workshop before 8am.
A variation of opening hours application will be debated by the council at its planning committee on Tuesday.
It has been recommended for the committee to approve the proposal with a raft of conditions.
