Staff and pupils at a Holcombe school have shown off their musical talent after a week of learning and performing music from all around the world.
Emmanuel Holcombe CE Primary School hosted a week of musical discovery in February as a way to teach staff and pupils about different cultures and genres.
Freelance music consultant, Katie Geelan, led the musical discovery and has been praised tremendously for the "wonderful and all-inclusive" experience.
Acting headteacher Amy Longstaff said: “We were on cloud nine all week, children were so excited to come into school and staff were singing and dancing up and down the corridors.
“It was amazing and even the children who would never normally sing in assemblies joined in and fully committed to it.
“It was really good for everyone's well-being and mental health.”
Children and staff were taught throughout the week with Katie visiting classes to host musical activities, singing, performing, musical appreciation, and playing instruments
The week ended with a full musical showcase on the afternoon of Friday, February 17, in front of parents.
Katie, who led the musical journey, said: “It was incredible how the musical ‘vibe’ impacted the school in general and how everybody came on board.
“The showcase was absolutely superb, it was overwhelming what the school community were able to achieve in a week and every child had the opportunity to perform.

“Even the ‘staff choir’ performed. It was a brilliant week and one to be repeated on a different theme next year.”
