Prestwich Athletic Club members have run with food bank donations to help with rising demand.
Last week, 20 members ran laden with donations to Trinity Foodbank in Radcliffe as part of the national Food Bank Run initiative, spurred by the increased need for the services.
Member Paul Fallon said that, as well as their 20 runners, some members took donations in their cars or donated financially.
He said: “Prestwich AC contacted Trinity Foodbank in Radcliffe and asked members for donations.
“The volunteers at Trinity kindly waited for us to run to them and it was great for us to meet them.
“Given the rising use of food banks nationally Prestwich AC are pleased to help out in this very worthy cause.”
Tina Harrison MBE, of Trinity Foodbank, thanked the club for their donations.
