A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and possession of an offensive weapon after a morning raid.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) Economic Crime Unit executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property in the Sanderson Street area of Bury this morning, Monday, February 27.

A quantity of cash, class A and class B drugs were seized along with a vehicle suspected to have been used in criminal activity.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B controlled drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. 

He remains in custody ahead of being questioned.

Detective Inspector James Coles from GMP’s Economic Unit Money Laundering Team said: “We will not tolerate criminals in our communities in Greater Manchester. 

“The arrest we’ve made today is a fantastic step towards an ongoing drugs and money laundering operation officers have been heavily involved in.

“We will continue and carry on targeting those suspected to be involved in criminal activity and seize assets and cash which can be reinvested into the communities of Greater Manchester and funnelled to those who need it.”
