An inquest has opened into the death of a man who died at hospital who suffered with shortness of breath and jaundice.
Anthony Kenneth Taylor, 55, of Warth Road, Bury, died after being admitted to Fairfield General Hospital on January 17 with confusion, shortness of breath and jaundice.
An inquest opening, held at Rochdale Coroners Court on Monday, heard that hospital staff began treatment but Mr Taylor's condition began to deteriorate.

Mr Taylor, who was single and unemployed, died a month later on Friday, February 17 and was identified by his daughter.
Assistant Coroner for Manchester North, Michael Salt, heard that Mr Taylor’s provisional cause of death was cirrhosis and hepatitis C, possibly connected to drug use.

Mr Salt said the inquest would be reviewed by April 10 with the potential for a read-only inquest date to be determined.
