A Bury business, known for being one of the UK’s leading microbiological testing and regulatory specialist, has received a royal accolade.
MSL Solution Providers, say they were delighted to welcome Lord Lieutenant Mrs Diane Hawkins, His Majesty The King’s Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, to its Walmersley-based HQ, on Friday, February 17.
The company has been officially presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade and praised for its "outstanding short-term growth".
Carolyn Burney, managing director of MSL, said: “This award is thanks to all the hard work of our team members.

“A special mention must also go to our founder Angela Davies and chairman, Mark Fenn, for their inspiration and hard work that has helped MSL grow to be one of the UK’s leading microbiological testing and regulatory houses.”

At the ceremony, Lord Lieutenant Mrs Diane Hawkins presented MSL with a Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal trophy.
Three years ago, MSL was servicing 25 countries and today roughly half of its business comes from export sales to approximately 60 countries.

The company was founded in 2001, and specialises in cosmetics, personal care, and household cleansing markets.
Over the past 20 years, MSL has grown to a team of more than 30 people, who collectively own a minimum of 51 per cent of the company following its move to an employee ownership model in 2019.
