A Bury hairdresser who goes "above and beyond" has been shortlisted for two national awards.
Nicole Murphy, who lives in Radcliffe, moved to England from Ireland seven years ago and has spent the best part of that time focusing on her passion as a hairdresser.
After going self-employed four years ago, Nicole joined GlowUp on Colville Dr and has now been shortlisted as a finalist in two categories at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to be a hairdresser and it’s all I’ve ever done since I finished school at 17.
“I never once imagined I would be up for an award or ever have the confidence to put myself forward like that so this has been a real shock but I am so proud of myself.
“I feel like this is just the beginning of what’s to come for my career.”
Nicola works as a freelance hairstylist inside the GlowUp salon, which was opened four years ago by Zoe Hall.
She said: “It’s been amazing, we have the best team and just make sure that every client that enters feels comfortable and leaves feeling a million dollars.

“We go above and beyond to create a happy and positive salon environment, the team has also helped me build my own confidence so I’m forever grateful for all the girls at GlowUp.”
