Bury's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network in the next two weeks.

And six of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A56, from 8pm on February 17 to 6am on July 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm February 20 to 6am February 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - M62 westbound, jct 19 - M60 anticlockwise jct 17 - M60 anticlockwise - M66 northbound, jct three - M66 southbound, jct three - M60 anticlockwise jct 19 lane closures and slip road closures and carriageway closures due to survey works.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M66, from 8.30pm on Friday, February 24 to 5pm on Saturday, February 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M66 northbound, junction 3 to junction 3 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

• M60, from 9pm on Monday, February 27 to 6am on Monday, March 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - lane closures due to survey works.

• M60, from 9pm on Monday, February 27 to 6am on April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• M60, from 9pm on Monday, February 27 to 5am on Thursday, March 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 18 to 20 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm on Tuesday, February 28 to 5am on Wednesday, March 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise junction18 to 17 - lane closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm on Monday, March 6 to 6am on Monday, March 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise junction 16 - M62 eastbound, junction 19 - lane closures due to survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
