Up to 48 new jobs were set to be created at Bury packaging firm Bibby and Baron in 1977.
The company - Low and Bonar UK - had won a contract for up to four million food bags and bin liners a week. New machinery costing £250,000 had been installed and 61 extra staff - in addition to the new recruits - had been brought in from other departments to deal with the order for Colgate Palmolive at its Dumers Lane factory.
Sadly, the factory closed in 2000 with the loss of around 180 jobs. Did you used to work at Bibby and Baron?
