Police say they carried out an "unsuccessful warrant" on Monday after cordoning off an area of land near Radcliffe Primary School.
A pond and field area behind Radcliffe Football Club and the school was sealed off by police on Monday, blocking access to the public area.
Officers have not confirmed if the cordon was in relation to a stabbing in Little Lever, Bolton, on Sunday, which led to three cordons being set up, including one in Radcliffe.
