Hardworking Bury College students have been recognised for their achievements in an annual awards ceremony.
They have been presented with accolades in the college's Apprenticeship Star Awards.
This week marks National Apprenticeship Week and the theme, "Skills for Life". It reflects on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career.
There is also a focus on how it can help businesses develop a talented workforce equipped with skills for the future too.
Nominations have been received by students' learning and skills coach, from several different areas.
The winners are:
· Mackenzie Healey – Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship at GLP Solicitors
· Amanda Rock – Adult Care Level 2 Apprenticeship at Bolton Cares
· Nick Adams – Dental Nursing Apprenticeship at Carisbrook Dental
· Eliza Buckley – Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship at Ziax
· Leah Cain – Early Years Level 2 Apprenticeship at Prestwich Preparatory School
· Nadia Cuschieri – Early Years Level 2 Apprenticeship at Mulberry Bush Nursery Group
Eliza and Amanda were both praised for doing exceptionally well throughout their apprenticeships and following completion are now employed as permanent members of staff.

Others like Mackenzie see their apprenticeship as an important stepping-stone for their career.
She has aspirations of being a solicitor, and her apprenticeship with GLP Solicitors is a great way of giving her experience in a legal environment.
The awards were presented by their employer and a college learning and skills coach.
Since 2010, 9,780 new apprenticeships have been created in the Bury North area and they are helping to open doors to highly skilled careers for students.

Bury North MP James Daly said: “Apprenticeships are fantastic ways for students to enter the world of work, helping them to build new skills and gain vital industry knowledge – all while being paid.
“It is brilliant news that 9,780 new apprenticeships have been created in Bury North since 2010 thanks to successive Conservative governments – as part of the Conservative’s drive to improve skills and productivity in our economy.
“Each new apprenticeship means another student building the skills and knowledge they need for a long and successful career.”
