A Radcliffe care home resident has enjoyed a heartwarming 99th birthday celebration.
Dorothy Walsh has lived at Rose Court Care Home on Water Street since 2019.
To mark her special birthday, staff and fellow residents marked her big day with lots of cards, presents and a singalong.
Residents at the 87-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home made her a birthday card which she was delighted with.
The home’s chef Kyle Emons also made a cake, and colleagues presented her with flowers and presents from the other residents and colleagues who sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
Wellbeing coordinator Lucy Ling added: “Dorothy was in her element, blowing out the candles and was really happy with all the attention.”
Dorothy was born on January 19, 1924 in Middleton and had a number of jobs across Greater Manchester, including working as a machinist and in a grocery shop.

She also worked in a Co-op jam factory where she met her husband Fred Walsh, who she had one daughter with.
Dorothy credits her keen interests of gardening, long walks and remaining physically active as some of her secrets to a long life.
She is also an avid reader and loves dogs.
Dorothy used to be a member of the Michael Ball Fan Club for 25 years and has attended three meet and greet events with him.
