A law firm which works with clients across Bury and Bolton has appointed a new solicitor with an "impressive track record and reputation".
John Parker, who has 20 years of experience in the legal profession, has now joined Clough & Willis as a residential conveyancing solicitor.
The firm, based on Manchester Road, Bury and Market Street, Little Lever, offers a range of legal services and will prove to be a familiar setting for Mr Parker, whose roots are in the area.
Mr Parker said: “I started my career and trained in Bury so it feels like I’ve come home.
“After years working for large corporate firms in Manchester, I knew the time was right to move on and try something different.
“Clough & Willis offers a unique mix of being traditional but still forward thinking.
“That really appealed to me and I’m looking forward to making my mark.”
Mr Parker has joined from law firm Linder Myers where we worked for five years.
He brings with him a long and varied career across the legal sector along with qualifications from top level institutions.
He trained at Woodcock & Sons and has also worked at Eversheds and Countrywide Conveyancing after having studied law at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and completed his legal practice course at the College of Law in York.
Mr Parker’s work covers all areas of conveyancing and has particular expertise in new builds, shared ownership, lease extensions and variations and adverse possession applications.
As he begins his new role, he will be reporting to Lorraine Stratton-Webb who is a partner at Clough & Willis and head of the firm’s residential property team.

Ms Stratton-Webb hopes that Mr Parker will bring just the expertise that the firm needs to take its work to the next level.
She said: “Over the past 20 years John has built up an impressive track record and reputation in the conveyancing sector so we are delighted that he has joined Clough & Willis.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge that I know will add value to our clients.”
