Four people have been arrested after a stolen car crashed into a lamppost in Heywood yesterday, Sunday.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say that a white Volkswagen (VW) Scirocco was stolen from Bury before crashing in Heywood.
Those in the car are said to have ran away following the collision but were later arrested by the Road Police Task Force (RPTF) on suspicion of burglary.
A picture on social media showed the aftermath of the crash with the car left substantially damaged.
A spokesperson for GMP Traffic said: "The VW Scirocco was stolen from Bury, it would crash in Heywood and the occupants flee the scene on the arrival of RPTF units.
"All four were arrested by the task force on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
"The car has been recovered for crime scene investigation examination."
