The parent company which owns the popular Heaton Park light festival Lightopia filed for administration only days after it finished this year.
Outreach Creative Limited made the move on Monday, January 9, only a week after the family-friendly celebration ended on January 2 after launching in November.
It held a new display, "A Christmas Story", which featured giant baubles, trees and presents.
The adventure ended with a grand finale Lakeside Water show which was a spectacle of moving creatures and patterns projected across the lake and fountain.
But following the much-loved entertainment at the Prestwich park, business problems have emerged.
A spokesperson for administrators Begbies Traynor said: “We can confirm that Irvin Cohen and Gary Shankland, of Begbies Traynor, have been appointed as administrators to Outreach Creative Ltd.”
The company also held a Lightopia event at Alton Towers in Staffordshire and Crystal Palace Park in London, which reported lighting and sound equipment being left scattered on the grass.
Outreach Creative Ltd has been approached for a comment about the situation.
